Rowan Willow is an interdisciplinary artist based in Baltimore, Maryland. She is focused on studying and learning from other organisms and biological processes to create utopic visions of community building and new ways of processing and organizing for life on a damaged planet. She wishes to hold space for tenderness and sacredness while working to create practical and accessible routes to material, food, and information. Her goal is to re-envision relationships to extractive industries and provide care within her own communities that beings to fray our alliances to oppressive power structures. Rather than learning on her own, she is listening to and learning with others. Rowan has shown work nationally, including at The Global Community Biosummit at MIT Media Lab, and at the national Biodesign Challenge at Parsons New School. |
